About All Africa Youth Congress

The All Africa Youth Congress (AAYC) is an initiative of the All Africa Conference of Churches’ (AACC) to facilitate continental Youth Campaign on African Patriotism. The All Africa Youth Congress christened “Accra 2022” happens to be the first organized by AACC. The Congress will no doubt be a viable space for approximately 2,000 young people, male and female alike within the age bracket of 15-35 in Africa, from the Diaspora and from among people of African descent. Equally the Congress will convene under four Themes; Youth and African Patriotism, Active Citizenship, Justice and Peace,African Dignity

Why the congress

We recognise the contribution of young people is paramount to the growth and future of the continent. All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) therefore has taken the initiative to organize the 2020 maiden Congress whose theme is Africa: My Home. My Future.

The congress, will provide a platform for young people to connect, exhibit creative innovation and an opportunity for the African youth to be seen and heard, to be assured that their contribution matters.

About the youth

Africa has the youngest population in the world. The continent is home to over 1.2 billion people. More than 60 percent of these fall below the age of 25 years. As Africa youthful population continues to rise, there has been uncertainty over the continent’s preparedness to tap into this resource for economic growth.
